Applications :

Methyl cyclopentadiene finds a wide application in down stream chemical reaction, e.g. It is a key feedstock for antiknock agent - methyl cyclopentadiene manganese tricarbonyl ( MMT ), which can also be shown by a variety of fine chemicals based on it like about a hundred kinds of metal derivatives. With reference to bonding agents and flame retardant agents, DMCPD can be reacted with maleic anhydride to a resin hardener, methyl-5-norbornene-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride(MNA) which has become a new generation of sealing material for electronics with low melting point, less viscosity and long life, etc. DMCPD can also be used as a feedstock for high energy rocket fuel , plasticizer and hardener.
